Just wanted to write a short post tonight about a new site that I found that provides all sorts of information about cltoh diapers. The site is http://coveredbums.com and they provide a ton of information about all of the brads of cloth diapers, especially Bummis, Fuzzi Bunz, and bumGenius diapers.

Bumgenius Cloth Diapers – Cleaning Bumgenius Cloth Diapers

Ok, so one of the big issues I had with the concept of cloth diapering was the cleaning of these things. While handling number one (you know…pee-pee) is not a big deal, I had visions of horror when it came to cleaning out soiled diapers. Hey, I am a man…not my thing. Changing disposable diapers is one thing…you take it off, you clean them (the kids) up, you toss them (the diaper…not the child) away. Soiled cloth diapers actually had to be handled and reused. Yikes!

Fortunately, Bumgenius cloth diapers were an easy solution. The Bumgenius cloth diaper comes off easily, and it is fairly simple to clean. The process is expedited and simplified if you invest in a diaper sprayer, Bumgenius does carry a diaper sprayer on their site if you are interested in purchasing. Take it from me dad, if you are going to be on the hook to deal with Bumgenius cloth diapers you need a sprayer. Once you have the sprayer in hand, the rest is easy.

BumGenius Diapers – The All In One

For those of you out there that are new to the diapering game, let me tell you…there is a little something out there for everyone. You have cotton cloth diapers that are old-school…but still get the job done. You have the Fuzzi Bunz brand that has inserts for the soakers, an outer cover, and easily adjustable naps, and then you have the BumGenius diapers. As I wrote about previously, Bumgenius has different types of diapers, with lots of different features.

BumGenius diapers, in their creative wisdom, had the foresight to put together a cloth diaper that functions in much the same manner as a disposable diaper. It comes pre-packaged so that all you have to do is place the diaper on to baby, and you are good to go. My wife, the spend-thrift that she is, spends most of her time looking for used BumGenius and Fuzzi Bunz diapers. You can save a bundle of money buying them used, and caring for them is very simple. Keeping one BumGenius in good shape is similar to the care you would afford anything else. You simply rinse the diaper out using a BumGenius sprayer, and then you only spend a minimal amount of time washing BumGenius diapers. Pretty easy. Maybe next time I will provide more detail on caring for the BumGenius diapers you have.

BumGenius Cloth Diapers - A Dad's Perspective

I will be the first to admit that I was not crazy about the idea of using cloth diapers. When my wife mentioned them I had images conjured in my head of towels wrapped around the baby. I knew this would never work for me. After all, there must be a reason that the civilized world has moved away from using this archaic form of outfit. But I was wrong.

As it turns out, the art of cloth diapering has evolved significantly. I have been introduced to the BumGenius cloth diapers, and Fuzzi Bunz diapers and I like them both. The BumGenius diapers have multiple versions of design (BumGenius 1.0, BumGenius 2.0,and BumGenius 3.0). They also produce the BumGenius all in one (AIO) diaper and a BumGenius one size cloth diaper.

One of the things I like about the BumGenius one size diaper is that it is adjustable and can continue to be used on the baby as they continue to grow. If you have kids you know how quickly they grow, and how expensive this kind of stuff can get.

If you have not tried BumGenius cloth diapers or Fuzzi Bunz I would highly recommend it. While there may be a small investment up front, you will realize your return on investment very quickly.
